Furnace repair in Winnipeg

When your furnace quits in a Winnipeg winter, Paulette walks you through five quick checks on the phone first, because one of them fixes it more often than you'd think. If it's still cold, a technician comes inside a two-hour window with common parts on the van.

A blue gas flame, close up

When to call us about it

  • The house is cooling off and the vents blow cold air
  • A bang or a squeal each time the burner lights
  • The furnace starts, runs a minute and shuts down again
  • The thermostat says heat and the basement stays quiet

What's included

  • The five phone checks, free
  • A full safety check, including the gas connection and venting
  • Combustion readings before and after, left with you on paper
  • The repair, if you approve the written price

How it goes

The phone checks. Breaker, filter, thermostat batteries, furnace door and the vent pipes outside. A two-hour window. If it's still cold, we give you a window and keep it. Readings and a written price. We find the cause, show you the numbers and price the fix before we start.

What to expect

Most repairs take an hour or two. When a part isn't on the van, Devon gives you a delivery day before he leaves, makes the furnace safe and leaves space heaters if the house is cooling off.

How pricing works

A flat diagnostic fee covers the visit and the readings. If you go ahead, the fee comes off the repair. Nothing is charged for the phone checks.

Warranty

Labour on repairs is guaranteed for one year. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty.

Furnace repair: what people ask

I smell gas. What should I do?
Leave the house now and call Manitoba Hydro's gas emergency line or 911 from outside. Call us once it's safe.
Do you charge if it was something simple?
Not if Paulette finds it on the phone. If we come out and it's a two-minute fix, the diagnostic fee is all you pay.

Jen W., St. Boniface, September 2026
Marta talked me out of the bigger unit the other company quoted. She measured every room first and the new furnace barely runs on cold nights.
Rob D., Transcona, February 2026
Called at 2 a.m. with no heat. Paulette walked me through the checks, and it was snow on the vent pipes. She wouldn't take a cent.
Anika P., East St. Paul, January 2026
Devon showed me the readings off his analyzer before and after the repair. First time anyone showed me the numbers.
Gord M., St. Vital, December 2025
Part had to come from Toronto, so it took two days. They lent us two heaters and called each morning with an update.
