We won't sell you a bigger furnace than your house needs.

Marta Hryniuk measures every room before she quotes a furnace or heat pump. We repair and install furnaces, heat pumps and central air in Winnipeg and out to Oakbank, Lorette and Headingley.

No-heat calls answered 24/7 from October 1 to April 30, with a two-hour arrival window. The price is in writing before any work, and every install carries 10 years parts and labour.

−27°C

45 degree days. The night Marta sizes for. Every room is measured, so the furnace keeps up on nights like this without being bigger than your house needs.

A degree day is how the heating trade measures cold: 18°C minus the day's average temperature. We named the company after it.

Marta talked me out of the bigger unit the other company quoted. She measured every room first and the new furnace barely runs on cold nights.Jen W., St. Boniface, September 2026
Called at 2 a.m. with no heat. Paulette walked me through the checks, and it was snow on the vent pipes. She wouldn't take a cent.Rob D., Transcona, February 2026

No heat? Run Paulette's five checks first.

She asks every caller these before she sends a truck. If one of them brings the heat back, there's no charge, any time of night.

When you call

If it's still cold, Paulette books a two-hour window and the technician keeps it. Before any work starts, you see the combustion readings and a written price. After the fix, the new readings go on the furnace with the date, so the next person can compare.

What people ask Paulette

Do you really answer at 3 a.m.?
From October 1 to April 30, yes. The no-heat line rings through to whoever is on call that night, and Paulette or the technician picks up.
Why measure the house to replace a furnace?
Because most furnaces we replace were sized from the one before. A furnace that's too big heats in short bursts, wears out sooner and leaves the far rooms cold. The measurement takes about an hour.
Will you tell me if I don't need a new furnace?
Yes. If a repair makes more sense, we'll say so and price both.
What happened to your maintenance plan?
We stopped selling it in 2024. You get one check each fall, a reminder the next September and nothing to cancel.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Winnipeg, plus East St. Paul, West St. Paul, Headingley, Oakbank and Lorette.
